Covers issues at the intersection of public health, environmental justice, and the lived experiences of Black communities, with a particular focus on the Midwest and national audiences. Recognized for deeply reported, community-centered journalism, blending investigative rigor with narrative storytelling. Reporting frequently highlights the impacts of climate change, gender and health disparities, and has experience amplifying underrepresented voices.

I was selected as a 2024 Pulitzer Center Story Reach Reporting Fellow and participated in the 2023 Wake Forest University Environmental and Epistemic Justice Fellowship. I am also a 2025 participant in the AHCJ German Health Care Study Group, where I reported on health care experiences of Black expatriates in Germany. My career trajectory includes mentorship through the Sharon Dunwoody Science Journalism Program and National Science, Health and Environment Reporting Fellowship, a collaboration of their respective national organizations.

My writing style is empathetic, data-driven, and solutions-oriented, often blending scientific research and narrative anecdotes. I have been recognized for my ability to connect local stories to broader national and global trends. Through several national speaking engagements at NABJ, ONA and SEJ conferences, I have carved a space for myself as a trusted voice in health and environment reporting.
