Toni Lyn Morelli is an adjunct full professor in environmental conservation at UMass Amherst and a research ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey. She uses species distribution modeling, occupancy modeling, geospatial analysis, and population and landscape genetics techniques, facilitated by translational ecology, to improve conservation in the face of global change. Currently she is investigating how climate change is affecting species ranges; identifying climate change refugia across the world; using participatory monitoring to track biodiversity change; using decision science to drive research questions and improve outcomes; and helping natural resource managers reduce the impacts of climate change and invasive species.
